Mission Statement

The Southern Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control was formed in response to the critical state of the small ruminant industry associated with the emergence of anthelmintic resistant worms.  The SCSRPC is a group of scientists, veterinarians, and extension specialists devoted to (1) developing novel methods for sustainable control of gastro-intestinal nematodes in small ruminants and (2) educating the stakeholders in the small ruminant industry on the most up-to-date methods and recommendations for control of gastrointestinal nematodes.

Members of SCSRPC meet regularly and are in close communication, continuously updating recommendations for parasite control.  United States members are from Auburn University, Alabama, Delaware State University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia, Heifer International, Arkansas, Langston University, Oklahoma, Louisiana State University, NCAT, ATTRA, Arkansas, North Carolina A&T State University, Tarleton State University, Texas, Texas A&M University, Tuskegee University, Alabama, University of Georgia, University of Maryland, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Booneville, Arkansas, and El Reno, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech.  Overseas members include University of Puerto Rico, the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute and Pretoria University, South Africa, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatan, Mexico, and the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, Toulouse, France.

American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ACSRPC)

Due to expansion of our membership, we have decided to change our name from the Southern Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (SCSRPC) to the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ASCRPC).  Only our name will be changing. Our mission will remain the same.
